What are the things that you find most difficult? For many it is the process of getting started ...those first few words.
By using PEEL paragraphs and starting with writing them you have a better idea of what then to put in the introduction and conclusion. PEEL paragraphs follow a formula and remind the writer to include a piece of evidence (statistic, quote or paraphrase) and to comment on what that evidence means in relation to the point being made.
Ideally competent writers will have more than one piece of evidence and more than one explanation in each paragraph making the mnemonic PEE-EEl.
This method may not be fool proof but it acts as a guide for beginner writers and prompts them or steps them through what to include in a paragraph therefore avoiding waffle and unnecessary words and making sure that evidence supports each assertion made.
Students should be reminded that they have no new ideas ... everything they say should be backed up with evidence. PEEL helps them do this.
Have a go at using PEEL - you might be surprised.

Hi Genevieve,
This is blog I need to read always... I always find writing is daunting task for me. I like the fact that anyone can use peel method to breakdown the total paragraph into a smaller section. I think this is very important when you are reading articles before writing your report or assignment. Using this method, anyone can plan about the the contents for each paragraph. So that at the end there will be a coherent way to finish your assigned task. Well done.
